MinuteED is a micro-learning platform that supports nurses with quick, context-aware education embedded into daily clinical workflows.

What it is

A bite-sized, scenario-based learning and communication tool designed to improve knowledge retention, confidence, and consistency of care.

What has been done

Stakeholder interviews and workflow research informed the product scope, key features, user journeys, and wireframes focused on real hospital use.

How it was done

A research-driven UX process combining interviews, synthesis, and rapid prototyping to align learning needs with clinical constraints.

Need Assessment

How might we provide nurses and clinical educators with workflow-integrated learning, progress and certification tracking, so that education fits into demanding schedules while maintaining visibility into competency and outcomes.

Users were confused about channels, feeds, and where posts would appear. Channels were moved to the top of the home screen, and post creation was separated to improve clarity.

Interactive Prototype

Next Steps

Reaserch . Design . Prototype . Creative code . UX POC .

01

Validate with users

Conduct usability testing with nurses and clinical educators to evaluate workflow fit, clarity, and time impact.

02

Pilot in clinical settings

Launch a limited pilot to test micro-learning modules, certification tracking, and progress visibility in real shifts.

03

Measure impact

rack engagement, completion rates, knowledge retention, and competency improvements over time.

04

System integration

Explore integration with existing hospital systems (LMS, credentialing platforms, EHR) to reduce redundancy and improve adoption.

Take Away

Healthcare UX is still catching up because systems are built around process, not people or ecosystem, but even small, well-designed tools can reduce staff burnout and have real impact on patient care.

This project reinforced that good healthcare design isn’t about adding more features; it’s about respecting time, reducing cognitive load, and supporting clinicians in the moments that actually matter.
